Name: James 'Bucky' Barnes
Canon: Marvel Cinematic Universe
Canon Point: As the railings on the train broke/as he falls.
Age: 22
Appearance: Bucky looks like Sebastian Stan! He is just shy of six feet tall, with dark brown hair and brown eyes. He has a boyish look to him, and is physically fit due to being a soldier. He has a dark gaze and a high forehead, and kind of a goofy smile. Due to the time he's taken, he's dressed in his military garb-- typical American soldier's WWII uniform with a blue double breasted jacket.
Inventory: Colt M1911A1, some rations, first aid kit, canteen, mess kit, razor, weapon's cleaning kit, an apartment key, and his dogtags.
Abilities: We know he's got pretty decent aim, but he's still (supposedly) 100% human!
History: http://marvel-movies.wikia.com/wiki/James_Barnes
Personality: Bucky is a supporting character in MCU’s ‘Captain America: The First Avenger’.
James ‘Bucky’ Barnes is a good man. Loyal and honest, he is eager to do his duty to protect his country. These traits be seen through his friendship with Steve Rogers. By kneeing a bully in the balls for beating up his friend, the ‘protective’ has him butting heads with Steve about joining the army (This isn’t a back alley, Steve. It’s war!) the day he got his summons to join the 107th. The disagreement was the same-- Steve wanted to join the army, Bucky thought it best for him to remain behind and ‘do his part’ by collecting scrap metals. Through their banter before Bucky leaves, (You’re a punk. … Jerk) one can see how at ease they are with each other. Much of his personality is characterized by his friendship with Steve Rogers. As shown, before Steve got the Serum, followed Bucky around with the Double Date at the Stark Expo (arranged by Bucky, as he insists that he only told the dames ‘the good stuff’ about Steve). While one can argue that, since it was Bucky’s last night out, he got the dames for his own benefit, he could have just as easily ditched Steve and went for a ‘date’ instead of a ‘double date’. While the ‘date’ didn’t go as well as planned (re: Steve and his date didn’t ‘click’ and Steve going off to the army recruitment center instead of dancing with Bucky and the girls), it was the thought that counted.
After Steve becomes Captain America, however, they switched roles, though their underlying dynamics remained the same. After being rescued by Steve from HYDRA, he was asked if he was ready to follow Captain America back out to the battlefield. His answer sums up his perspective: “Hell no. The little guy who’s too stupid to run from a fight? I’m following him.”
Bucky is extremely brave and hardy... After the men were freed from capture, they voiced (perhaps jokingly) some misgivings about going back into the field. However they, including Bucky, decided without hesitation to follow Steve into war. And when faced with a building about to self-destruct, Bucky wouldn’t leave Steve behind. When tortured, he got up and tried his best to hobble his way out of the building.
Bucky has a good sense of humor, and he often jokes around with Steve. He’s very light-hearted and likes to have a good time.
He is also naturally charming, as evinced when he brings the date to Steve, having convinced his own to bring a friend on a blind date and having no trouble getting along with the fairer sex. In the bar when Steve’s love interest, Peggy, comes in, Bucky tries to hit on her and gets no response. He says about this that he feels invisible, that he feels like the roles have reversed and he’s Steve now, and that it’s a ‘terrible dream.’
Actor Sebastian Stan says that they were like brothers, and that Bucky had a hard time adjusting from being Steve’s protector to seeing a man who didn’t need that kind of role in his life anymore. But throughout the film, he is nothing but supportive, and happy for his best friend. During this arc of the story, he is very playful and friendly, and nothing if not a good pal.

For the first time in a long while-- he was warm. Bucky woke to muscle cramps on his left hand-- not unlike the countless times he’d went to sleep with an eye open on enemy soil, which will not explain the warmth. Grimacing, he set to work massaging protesting joints as he scanned his surroundings, taking note of the army issued Colt digging in his back. Where was the Howling Commandos? Steve? and where the Hell was ‘here’?!
Sitting up with a grunt--Wait. He was... on a train. Before that, a Zip line. Timing their descent just so. Separated and-- Gunfire.
Being in a shootout does not explain why he was…here, wherever here was. This look nothing like the trai-
Bucky was on his feet before his brain finally registered--
Falling. The blur of white has he was blasted out the train-- hanging on, hanging on Steve was with him; he just needed to reach-- except, he didn’t reach in time, did he? A hand’s length away.
Dammit, Steve would be worried. Best check in as soon as possible.
